Class Experience
Each week, students will read a few chapters from "Matilda" by Ronald Dahl, interact with their teacher and classmates in discussion boards, and watch video lectures from their teacher summarizing and analyzing each chapter. Students are expected to answer discussion questions as well as interact with the teacher's and other students' responses. Each week, students will also be assigned various weekly assignments to complete, in addition to their readings. These assignments will be due Friday at 11:59pm pacific time. These weekly assignments will be beneficial to tapping into different areas of their creativity to help them retain what they've read at a deeper level. Week 1: Read Chapters 1-6, complete assignments, respond to discussion posts, and complete FlipGrid activity by 11:59pm pacific time. Week 2: Read Chapters 7-11, complete assignments, respond to discussion posts, and complete FlipGrid activity by 11:59pm pacific time. Week 3: Read Chapters 12-17, complete assignments, respond to discussion posts, and complete FlipGrid activity by 11:59pm pacific time. Week 4: Read Chapters 18-21, complete assignments, respond to discussion posts, and complete FlipGrid activity by 11:59pm pacific time. Each week will be on the same consistent schedule. On Monday morning, I will post a video with a quick summary of the chapter and giving an analysis of the chapters. Students will be required to comment on the video to indicate they have watched it. Students will also be required to answer discussion questions and interact with one of their classmate's responses. I will be looking over their responses in this discussion as well as interacting with the students' answers. This is to ensure the discussion is constructive. I will leave each student feedback and grade their assignments.
Learning Goals
