Description
Class Experience
Please see information above on topics.
I have taught in UK primaries (Qualified Teacher Status) for 17 years, including teaching daily maths across ages 5-11. I have 8 years experience in Upper Key Stage 2. I use targeted questioning, enquiry and exploration to develop fluency and understanding in maths. Although I teach based on the UK curriculum, my maths is adapted for real life situations and is not taught by rote.
Optional homework will be included with each lesson.
Essential: maths paper, pencils, enthusiasm and an enquiring mind! Helpful: maths manipulatives such as Numicon, Deines and Place Value counters. These may support children with their learning out of class and are easily available in small packs from online retailers.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
