Homework
1 hour per week. Each week, learners will receive homework pages with practice problems to reinforce the lessons covered in class. These pages are designed to be manageable and help solidify their understanding of key concepts. Additionally, a supporting YouTube review video will be provided to guide students through the homework and offer helpful explanations for any challenging concepts. This combination of practice and review ensures that learners have the support they need to succeed!

This class runs on a continuous loop, meaning students can jump in at any time without missing a beat! Each lesson builds essential fraction skills, and because the topics cycle, your learner will always have a chance to master every concept—no matter when they start!

✏️ Master Fractions: Weekly Topics in Order ✏️

1️⃣ Equivalent Fractions & Common Factors – Build a strong foundation by finding equivalent fractions and simplifying using common factors. (Week of March 10th)

2️⃣ Comparing & Ordering Fractions – Develop confidence in determining greater and lesser values and arranging fractions in order. (Week of March 17th)

3️⃣ Adding & Subtracting Fractions – Learn to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators using efficient strategies. (Week of March 24th)

4️⃣ Multiplying Fractions – Understand fraction multiplication conceptually and apply it to real-world problem-solving. (Week of March 31st)

Welcome to Mathletes: Fraction Mastery! This 4-week intensive program is designed to help 4th graders build confidence and fluency with fractions. Through interactive lessons, engaging practice, and gamified learning, students will master equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering, adding and subtracting, and multiplying fractions—all while having fun! With expert guidance from a licensed educator and the power of Nearpod, your child will thrive in a dynamic, supportive learning environment from the comfort of home. 🌟

📓 Inside Our Classroom 📓

Each week, students will focus on key fraction concepts through warm-ups, step-by-step instruction, and guided practice using the "I do, we do, you do" approach. This method gradually builds confidence before students work independently. Every class ends with a fun Gimkit game to reinforce skills and make learning exciting! 🎮

📚 Ongoing Learning Support 📚

After each class, students will receive teacher-created printables and video tutorials to review concepts at home, ensuring they stay on track and get extra practice. 📹

Nearpod is a free interactive platform that keeps students engaged with real-time participation, immediate feedback, and interactive activities. Whether they join via the app or Zoom screen share, students will be fully immersed in the learning experience. 📲

Master Equivalent Fractions & Simplification – Develop a strong foundation in finding equivalent fractions and simplifying them using common factors and greatest common factor (GCF).
Compare & Order Fractions with Confidence – Strengthen number sense by comparing and ordering fractions using benchmarks, number lines, and common denominators.

Parental Guidance
Learners will use Nearpod and Gimkit during the camp. No logins are required—just the provided link to access both platforms. These tools make learning engaging and fun while mastering key math concepts!
Supply List
Learners should bring a whiteboard and marker or paper and pencil to each lesson, especially if they prefer to work offline instead of using digital platforms. This will help them actively participate, solve problems, and write out their work during each session.
