In this ongoing subscription class that meets once each week, students will explore the connections between art and mathematics. A different art masterpiece will be presented every week to allow students the flexibility to join at any week during the course. As class begins, an image of the selected masterwork will be displayed for several minutes. Students will expand their mathematical vocabulary (e.g., perpendicular, parallel, transverse, intersection, translation, rotation, reflection, tessellation, symmetry, infinity, polygon, parallelogram, pentagon, circle, congruent, convex, quadrilateral) as they describe works of art and participate in mathematical discussions about those works of art.
