Order of operations, integer operations, solving equations, and logical reasoning are critical skills for mastering algebra and beyond! The enrichment being provided in these activities will support students towards reaching or maintaining a high proficiency level with these skills. I will provide the notes, examples, activities and directions needed to seamlessly follow through each lesson. The student will be encouraged to take notes as they move through the lessons as this will help them understand the examples and complete the puzzles, and I will respond to any questions that may be posted via Outschool messages, typically within a 24-hour time frame. The expected completion time is 4 weeks, but time can be extended as needed. Upon completion of work, the student should have a better understanding of how to solve algebra-related problems, and how to think critically to solve problems.
Learning Goals
Objectives:
-using (including exponents) to simplify expressions
-using counters, number lines, and/or a set of rules to solve integer operation problems
-using inverse operations in order to solve equations
-critically thinking through solving problems
