Teacher expertise and credentials
New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Reading, writing, math, social studies, science, dance, Chinese Mandarin, and Chinese Cantonese for grades K to 6 are just some examples of my teaching subjects. Essay writing, state exam prep, math word problems strategies, and reading strategies are other areas that I teach as well. Phonics, spelling, and fundamental math for the little ones, below achievement, ELLs, and special needs scholars are included as well.
For the past 15 years of teaching in NYS, I have learned that teaching is the most wonderful job in the world. I would love to make a difference. The smiles on my scholars' faces and their ah-ha moments are priceless. Since one size never fit all; lessons should tailor to each individual's needs as much as possible. My teaching philosophy is to have fun while learning. Learning is a lifelong journey; we can always learn something new everyday.
I love to do origami and paper crafts. When I was young, my mom bought me a book with hundreds of projects and I just gathered my papers and kept folding. That was my game of joy. Up to this day, I still keep this skill and love to share that with my scholars in schools. It is one of the most fun skills I never regret to learn. I might not be able to play in professional games, but I definitely can teach basic skills in sports, like basketball, volleyball, ping pong, and tennis, etc.
Feel free to request times & dates that suit your availability. I will try to arrange with my availability. Let's join Ms. Janet and have fun in learning!!! (o^.^o)
