Knowledge of multiplication and division facts are necessary to learn multiplying and dividing fractions. Lectures will start with simplifying and reducing fractions, a necessary skill applied to all other fractions concepts. With student willingness and extra time, the same concepts will be applied to mixed numbers and conversions like improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa. Improvements can be made in about a month. Fractions lead to greater things like decimals, percents, pre-algebra, Algebra I, and geometry, and Algebra II. Week 1: Multiplying and Dividing Simple Fractions Week 2: Converting Between Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers Week 3: Multiplying and Dividing Mixed Numbers Week 4: Review Classwork and homework ensure student success, so progress will not be made without doing them. That is because practice or repetition is what cements the knowledge in the learner’s memory. In class, prompts and direction are given. Distractions between class meetings may lead to forgetfulness. When doing the homework later in the day or the next day, the notes taken in class will be invaluable. Worksheets will be provided for all work. Lectures will include examples and allow for comments or questions, which the silly but serious teacher welcomes at any point in the course. Assignments will be reviewed to ensure understanding of the subject.

My classes cover basic math and pre-algebra for teenagers with or without unique needs. There are two series available for that. Contact me with any concerns about whether your child is suited for the course content despite age or experience. Private classes are also available.
While educating K-12 marginalized and underserved youth, it wasn't long before I specialized in requests for math help due to demand. That was preceded by 16 years in STEM as a test, maintenance, and repair technician specializing in electricity, electronics, instrumentation, and automation for process control and military aviation.
It’s never too late to learn something no matter what anyone else says or thinks. A student is far more than mistakes that matter less and less over time.
As a kid, I used to hate math because I didn't have mastery of it. My mother was terrible at it but insisted that I do better. She won. I liked how useful math became. It's been working for me ever since, and I want my students to do at least as well.
I look forward to helping your child finally overcome math issues.
