Thank you for your interest in this class! Throughout this course, we will cover 4 main areas: 1) Converting fractions into decimal form; 2) Ordering decimals; 3) Adding and Subtracting Decimals; 4) Multiplying and Dividing Decimals. During our first meeting, we will begin making a graphic organizer of how to convert fractions into decimals. We will go over the steps together, then practice what we have learned. During our second meeting, we will learn how to order decimals from least to greatest and greatest to least. We will also review what we learned during the previous session and build on that. During our third meeting, we will learn how to add and subtract decimals. Students will be taught a jingle to help them remember how to add and subtract decimals. We will also make an additional graphic organizer during this session for "Operations with Decimals." We will add to the graphic organizer during the third and fourth meetings. During our fourth and final meeting, we will learn how to multiply and divide decimals. We will add notes to our graphic organizer from the previous meeting. By the end of the 4-week course, students should be expected to be proficient in converting fractions into decimal form, and completing all four math operations with decimals.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my virtual classroom. I am really looking forward to meeting you!
My name is Annie and I'm from the rural community of Henrietta, Texas. Being a teacher truly is my calling. Both of my parents, and all four of my grandparents have all been in educational capacities of some form or another, so its only natural that I have followed their leadership.
I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications and a teaching certification in agricultural education. I am also Texas certified to teach core subjects grades 4-8. I have been a classroom teacher for nine years. My primary focus has been junior high mathematics; however, I've also taught Fine Arts and Innovative Studies. Though I love the concreteness of math, I also love to be creative.
In addition to expertise in academic subjects, I am a self-taught Do-It-Yourself Guru in everything from dip nail manicures to furniture restoration to acrylic and polygel manicures to home renovations and everything in between!
It is my passion to make learning fun!! On any given day, you can expect to see or hear my students singing songs, dancing, up and moving around the classroom as a part of lesson engagement, and working collaboratively.
I'm a big believer in building relationships with my students. "They won't care what you know until you know they care," is a quote that I live by.
In my spare time, I love to travel the world!
