***Upon request, the schedule may be adjusted to accommodate a shorter/longer session with more/less meetings per week. The price will also be adjusted accordingly.*** In this session of private individualized math tutoring, your child will benefit from one on one attention to help them achieve their academic potential. It is my desire to create a love for mathematics, one equation at a time. As a parent looking to get the best and be the best of the best, I am often asked, "What makes my tutoring so special?" I do not merely teach students in a specific subject, instead, I help students to become independent thinkers. Over time I equip students with the resources to develop enough critical thinking skills so that I simply become an academic coach, helping to guide my students in their academic quest. Your child will also get continuous math support via email or video recordings throughout the week as necessary. Therefore, I believe a tutor is a coach whose goal is to motivate students to become independent thinkers and effective math problem solvers. My Tutoring Process My strong educational background and values have influenced my tutoring process. My tutoring sessions employ the use of research-based strategies to help students to understand the standards they are required to master for their grade level and subject area. My tutoring process provides monitoring of the student’s progress towards goals and appropriate instruction and informal assessment to help move students towards those goals. Structure of the Initial Tutoring Session The initial consulting session includes the following: Introductions Review of the Goals/Objectives Process for the Student in terms that the student understands and how these goals/objectives will be monitored Diagnostic Assessment (if requested) Learning Styles Assessment (if requested) Questions/Comments After the first session, the diagnostic test (if requested) is graded and the results analyzed. In the next session the results will be reviewed and the data charted by both the parent and the student. The student will engage in record-keeping as well as we both monitor the student’s growth towards the goals in each session.
