The best process for learning math includes consistency, attention to detail, careful note-taking, guided practice, asking questions, individual practice, carefully checking over work, re-working missed problems, and learning from mistakes. With all of these measures in place, any student should be more prepared to preform well on a test than without them. Think about it this way: Learning to play the piano is not a spectator sport and neither is learning to do math.
