US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner - Advanced Level
Your young person will be supported and challenged to be a confident mathematician no matter where they currently are in their learning journey. Your young person can bring work from school that they are struggling with, or we can create a curriculum tailored to your needs. I specialise in "doing the basics brilliantly" because I know how important these are to your young person as they progress through their education. I also make learning fun through my enthusiasm for math, interactive activities and getting to know how to bring the best out of your young person. For this reason we will focus on learning or practicing the fundamentals of: - Number - eg. adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing multi-digit numbers, fractions, decimals, negative numbers - Algebra - Ratio, proportion & rated of change - Geometry and measure - Probability & Sets - Statistics Your young person will receive the support they need to get the basics right and iron out any misconceptions they have. If your young person needs stretching then they will be challenged to explore topics in more depth to gain fluency and a greater understanding of the math. In between tutoring classes I can make available practice and recall resources for your young person to use to embed any new learning. I will give concise and easy to follow instructions on how to use these learning tools. I believe that you, as the consistent adults in your young person's life, have a significant impact on their learning. However some adults lack the confidence to support their own child with their math. Because of this I provide resources so that adults can support their child's learning between tutoring sessions. Please note: I often have availability for different times zones, length of class and number of days per week - just message me with your requirements.
