Hi! I am Deaf, and I taught academic and foundational math for 12 years in a mainstreaming program and at a school for the deaf. The experience gave me a unique perspective on adapting instructional methods to ensure comprehension and foster a love for mathematics. My commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment has allowed me to successfully connect with students of varying abilities and learning styles. I believe each student can thrive in a positive learning environment with the right guidance and support.
I am certified to teach math to K-12 deaf and hard-of-hearing students and have a MA degree in Math Education - Secondary.

I am a huge fan of different types of Sudoku puzzles. Right now, I have nineteen books filled with them! I live with my husband and our cat. We also have one son, one son-in-law, two daughters, one granddog, three grandcats, and a new grandson!

Looking forward to being your teacher!

Assessment

I will give an assessment the first week to figure out which areas your child needs to learn. It will be done in both American Sign Language and written English.

Homework

I will provide homework for them to review. I will not give grades, but parents and I can discuss a reward system to motivate their children to do homework to practice and help me know which areas to move on or reteach during the next lesson. It also helps them retain what they just learned.

Collectively, this team is dedicated to delivering an enriching ASL learning experience that accommodates diverse backgrounds and cultivates growth.
