Math Tutoring Blitz

In this one time tutoring session, learners will have chosen math concepts they would like extra help on. I focus on a deep understanding of material taught through story telling or just a great strategy that's easy to remember. When teaching any concept in math it is easy to get lost as there are just too many moving parts to pay attention to.

Topics covered in this class vary depending on the learners individual needs. It can range anywhere from 1st grade math all the way to 5th grade math.

Parents this is for you specifically: How many times have you gone out to dinner with a group of friends and there's always one person that splits up the check and tells everyone what they need to chip in in order to make the bill even? Too many numbers being thrown around with no explanation is often confusing and sometimes overwhelming. We just give up. I have taken it upon myself to master math because I was tired of being in the classroom seeing the same things happen to my students that were happening to me when I was their age. 

1-2 minutes- Teacher and student will familiarize themselves with each other as well as the concepts that are covered. Specifically what they are having trouble with.

5-10 minutes- Teacher will go over concepts with a strategy/story to create a deeper understanding of the concepts.

15 minutes- Student will practice with the strategy working closely with the teacher while explaining the strategy back to the teacher.

1-2 minutes- Class wrap up/assessment from the teacher.
