Depending on what the learner needs, we can focus this time on concept development, skill building, homework help, or test preparation. You can bring specific materials for me to base instruction on or you can provide me with a list of topics, and I will create materials. My goal is to build students as independent and successful learners. We will typically begin all problem-solving with what the student thinks is the right step and then discover together the most efficient ways to solve problems. In order to learn something deeply, it must connect to prior knowledge we already have. In order to build confidence, we need to experience success in our own decision-making and problem-solving choices. We will meet through the Outschool platform where we will screen share materials and solve problems using the integrated whiteboard. Topic Examples: Number Sense Addition Subtraction Multiplication Division Measurement Fractions Decimals Geometry Grade-Level Algebra If you don't see a time that works for you, feel free to send me a message. I will try my best to work out a time with you! 🌟 Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session. No refunds or rescheduling are available for cancellations made within the 24-hour window or for missed sessions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I have a total of 15 years' experience working with students; classroom teaching, subbing, tutoring, and volunteer work. I went to the University of West Florida and received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-6 with certifications in Reading, ESE, and ESOL. I also have a certification in Middle School Mathematics. My certification is up to date in the state of Florida. I spent the past seven years teaching elementary school in Florida (2nd grade, 4th grade, and 3rd grade). Every year, I taught each of the content areas (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies/History). I was a substitute teacher for elementary schools for 5 years prior to having my certification. Tutoring in person and online has also been a part of my journey working with students.
