Homework
There is only homework depending on the individual and upon request. I never want to give students extra homework if the family doesn't want it. This is because I am here to help and support, not to give more work (unless requested, then I have many resources).
Assessment
Assessments will be summative for the initial assessment and formative throughout each session together. Progress reports are given after the initial assessment as well as any check in summative assessments upon request.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
In this ongoing tutoring class, first-time students will typically be given an assessment so that the teacher can find their strengths and the areas that they need support in. After the initial assessment, students will be given instruction that is based on their individual needs. Some instruction may include reteaching strategies and then giving homework to go over. Other instruction may just be supporting students with their exiting math homework and helping them with it. The needs in this class are extremely customizable and flexible depending upon the needs of your learner. However, the goal is the same, the goal is to help your learner succeed in their math goals and achieve them in the way that fits best for them!

I cover all math topics and strategies, but below is an example of how the class would look:

Example: If a student needs help with algebra, the learner would be assessed to see where they are at. Then we would go over worksheets in class having to do with the algebra they need help with. Then with mini-lessons about each topic, students will be able to be taught to their strengths and be given strategies to solve those algebra problems.
Learning Goals
Learners will be given individual goals based on their initial assessments and performance throughout each session. The ultimate goal is to take learners where they are and bring them to where they want to be! This includes students who may be struggling with a math concept, or students who are advanced and want to move at a more rapid pace.

Other Details

Supply List
Whatever they learn best with. I have resources for students so that they never need to bring anything to class, but if they prefer to use physical manipulatives or a physical pencil and paper, that is always an option and up to them!

Some sessions depend on what is being taught. Sometimes, I will give students the option to have a printed copy of something in front of them. If that is the case, I will let them know ahead of time.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
