Description

Class Experience

The needs of the student will determine the level of the content, as well as the specific topics. First meeting will be an assessment; please be present for this (approx.15 minute commitment from guardian). We will discuss areas of strength, areas of concern, as well as current topics they are learning in school. 
With the student we will discuss how they feel about math as well as what they struggle with. I will encourage students to be as honest as possible so that we can get to the fun...

Student learning goals will adjust based on student needs. 
Overall, students will gain a deeper, more comprehensive of math and how it all connects, as well as gain confidence in applying it in real-world situations.

I LOVE math, and have the student achievement to prove it. I have had the most math growth in a single year in my school three years running, and have had the privilege of being a part of a college-level math program that taught teachers how to teach math.

Based on the content and topic of the lesson, 2-5 problems will be assigned for independent practice.

Paper, pencil, eraser and counting tools (such as beans, cheerios, counters, pennies)
Other needs will be based lesson to lesson and will be discussed no later than 3 days prior to class.

Scaled 1-4 (in regard to current grade level)
1-not meeting the learning goals
2-approaching the learning goals
3-meeting the learning goals

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
