Class Experience

I firmly believe that establishing a strong working relationship and ensuring students' comfort are essential for successful one-on-one tutoring sessions. I am a former math interventionist with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Design. Currently, I focus on grades first through 5th grade in order to ensure high quality instruction as well as materials. I aim to foster a relationship with my students and their families to make certain all my students are successful. I love teaching on Outschool and love that I am able to focus on the aspects of teaching that I love, which are math and curriculum design. Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on math and science.  I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence. 

I primarily teach math classes most popular class is my 1:1 math tutoring class, but I have expanded my classes recently to include art classes as well as thematic science classes for first, second, third and fourth grades.
