Class Experience

**Learners are welcome to join for one week only at a reduced cost **
This 4-session course focuses on developing multiplication and division mental math strategies to solve more difficult problems.  Learners should have a basic understanding of multiplication and division.

During this live video chat, students will interact with both the teacher and other students to solve multiplication and division problems.  Math problems are strategically chosen to focus on building specific strategies...

Students will develop mental math strategies to solve multiplication and division problems beyond the basic facts.  
Students will develop strategies to break apart numbers into smaller, more manageable components.
Students will solve increasingly difficult problems using their knowledge of the basic facts and mental math strategies.

I feel very passionate about building a positive math mindset in students of all ages.  Most importantly, I have watched many students build a solid math foundation through participating in math talks.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

On-going assessment by the teacher will inform the types of math questions presented during the lesson.  If students are grasping the concept quickly, questions will increase in difficulty.  If students are struggling, more time will be given with the strategy.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
