Description

Class Experience

This is the first of 3 modules I offer related to Probability & Statistics.  Students can expect to learn concepts that are included in most state high school math standards.  This module provides an introduction to the concept of probability.  Our approximately daily outline is shown below:

Day 1 - Theoritical & experimental probability; compound events and sample space
Day 2- Calculating probabilities & conditional probabilities using 2-way frequency tables
Day 3- Independent and dependent...

This class is taught in English.

Students have the opportunity and are encouraged to complete 15-40 minutes of homework per class session to practice the concepts taught.  Students will have access to problems online, providing a rich bank of questions for student practice.  The instructor regularly monitors student progress towards our learning goals.

Upon request, I can assess and provide a letter grade to communicate to parents a student's performance compared to the learning goals of the course.

3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
