When I ask students what their least favorite subject in school is, the answer is almost always “math”. Usually reason for this response is because students figure that they can succeed in math with the same effort they put into other subjects in school. When they encounter a math course and find that this is in fact not the case, they generate a negative approach towards the subject. The intimidation and indifferent thought process leaves students in a position of loss when they haven’t even started! Having a positive mindset, learning techniques, and being adequately prepared for what to expect can help students achieve success in their future math courses. Through discussion and lecture, I will pilot students towards achieving confidence and give them tips that will help them in the long run not only in math but also other aspects of their life. At the end of this course, students will appreciate how everything around us can be better understood with mathematics.

Hi everyone! My name is Amrita and I am thrilled to be a part of this platform.
I have always found teaching to be a rewarding experience which is why I have continued to pursue it through the past eight years now. I have had the opportunity to tutor students, teach in the classroom (k-12), and coach life skill sets to students. Although I have taught all subjects, my expertise lies in math and science.
When I approach students, I believe in creating a positive environment where students are able to step out of their own comfort zones and willing to learn. This sort of environment is achieved through ice breakers and teaching techniques that give the student one on one attention. I enjoy having my students walking away with not only knowledge, but confidence and personal growth.
