In this 4 week course students will continue their learning of 4th and 5th grade math skills related to algebraic thinking. We will look for patterns, complete word problems using variables and learn to divide.

Description
Class Experience
Students will spend 8 weeks developing algebraic thinking skills. Students will leave with an understanding of patterning, variables and division.
Students will be given optional extra practice. Answers will be provided so parents can help students check their understanding.
Print-outs as sent through Outschool classroom, spiral notebook to keep notes organized, personal white board is an option as it is easier to read the white board marker over pencil when students are sharing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each week students will be assessed as we complete problems as a group. Students will also be given an end of class assessment the last session so parents can see the students progress.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents may need to help students with the optional extra practice between classes.
