In this 8-week class, we will review 6th grade topics including decimals, fractions, percents, angles, ratios, and solve 1-step algebraic equations, while solving 2 four-week mysteries.

 Week 1
Lesson 1
Multiply and Divide Decimals
The mystery Writing Camp Blues will be introduced. Students will multiply and divide decimals.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Percents, Fractions, and Decimals
When given a percent, decimal, or fraction, students will be able to convert that number into the other forms in a graph.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Measuring Angles
Students will determine types of angles and measure angles.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Find the Missing Angle
Students will be given an angle and will find the supplementary or complementary angle. Students will find the missing angle in triangles and quadrilaterals. Students will solve the mystery.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Ratio and Equivalent Ratio
A new mystery, The Minecraft Mishap, will be introduced. Given pictures of a set, students will find ratios in the set and determine equivalent ratios. Students will find missing ratios.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
One Step Addition and Subtraction Equations
Students will solve one step addition and subtraction equations.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
One Step Multiplication and Division Equations
Students will solve one step multiplication and division equations.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Fractions to Decimals with Repeated Decimals and Rounding
When given fractions, students will use a calculator to convert the fraction to decimals. When given a fraction with repeated decimals, students will round the decimal to the nearest hundredth. Students will solve the mystery.
Students will learn and review sixth grade math concepts, including multiplying and dividing decimals, converting fractions to decimals and percents, measuring angles, find the missing angle, ratios and equivalent ratios, solve one step addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations, and learn about repeated decimals.
I have a master’s degree in Learning and Instruction as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  I taught general education and special education classes for seven years before becoming a homeschooling mom. I have taught all grade levels 1-6 mathematics, for both general education students and special needs students.  I am a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, as well as have teacher certification for both general education and special education in the state of California.

Grades Offered
This class is an inclusive class and welcomes learners of all abilities, and is inclusive to students with learning disabilities, autism, anxiety, or any other learning differences. It is a small group (maximum of 5 students).
