CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
I try my best to allow each student to have a turn during all of classes. If your learner does not want a turn, that's ok too, I understand we are all different. At the beginning of each class, I always review my classroom rules. I encourage students to raise their hand for a turn to speak/share out. This give students a lifelong skill of waiting their turn, but also allows for learners to hear others speaking.
During most of the class, learners will be muted to limit background noise that can be distracting to learners and preventing them from learning from class. This is why it is so important for learners to raise their hand.
