Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 9
Contact me to schedule a different day, time or session length (30, 45 & 60 min available).

I also offer group math support classes, summer review or preview, and full year courses. You can see them all on my teacher profile page.

For these math tutoring sessions we can review and practice concepts of your choice or you learner can bring their school assignments to get help, clarification, reteaching, etc. Working with them 1 on 1 will allow me to assess their understanding, identify areas of need and provide them extra review & practice to master any unfinished learning over our sessions as time allows.

As a current math teacher I am well versed in the most important topics and where students tend to struggle. I want to help your learner build a strong foundation in the most key skills so they can be successful in their current course but continue that success for the remainder of their math education.

Some of the common topics I can help with include:
- Fractions
- Fraction operation
- Ordering & comparing fractions
- Decimal operations
- Finding percents (tax, tip, commissions, percent of change)
- Integer operations
- Writing and solving equations
- Story Problems & Word Problems
- Writing, solving and graphing inequalities
- Linear equations
- Exponents
- Area
- Surface area
- Volume
Learning Goals

I have been teaching math at the middle and high school level for the past 12 years. In that time I have taught all types of learners and courses from 6th grade through Integrated Math 2 (Algebra and Geometry).

I came to Outschool aiming to help learners who need math support. I hope to empower them to see that they can master math with time, effort and support. I want each of my learners to leave class feeling more confident and ready to take on the next math challenge.

Some fun facts: I've done the flying trapeze, shot a giant confetti cannon on the field of an MLB game, and even made a brief appearance on The Price is Right. In my free time I love relaxing with my family, yoga, crafting, going on walks & hikes, and shopping at Trader Joes.
