Class Experience

This is an ongoing course for summer so you can enroll and unenroll to fit your vacation schedule. Recordings of sessions will be available after each class in case you miss one because you are out enjoying your summer!

I created this class for anyone who just finished 6th grade math and needs some review or for students who will be entering 6th grade and would like a preview.

I want you to feel confident in yourself and your math skills when you go back to school!  Let’s work hard over the...

I want each student to feel confident in their ability to succeed in their upcoming math class!  

Students will be able to:
Identify types of angles and angle pairs.
Identify parts of a circle, find circumference and area.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide with fractions.
Add and subtract with integers.
Write and evaluate expressions.
Write and solve one step equations.
Solve real world problems involving rates, unit rates and proportions.
Solve real world problems involving percents.
Calculate the area of triangles, trapezoids and parallelograms.
Calculate mean, median, and mode.

Optional assignments will be provided for each topic.

Pen, paper and calculator.  PDF’s of the lesson notes may be provided for learners to print for class but they will not be required.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Blooket

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

We will use Blooket as a practice game.  Students will NOT need to log in or any provide personal information.  They will NOT need an account.  I provide a link in class for them to access the live game so only students in the class will have access. They can use their computer and do not need a separate device.

Nearpod may also be used in this class.
