Credentialed Middle and High School Math Teacher with 10 years teaching experience in grades 6 through 10 math. I started my career teaching middle school math and then moved up to high school. I love teaching middle school after having taught high school because I have a very clear idea of where they are headed and exactly what they need to succeed in their first years of high school math.
The homework will be to watch a 20-30 minute video lesson the day before a class meeting. So for example: Monday: watch video lesson and take notes Tuesday: class meets and practices the topic Wednesday: watch video lesson and take notes Thursday: class meets to practice the topic Friday: optional practice assignment to review the week
Pen or Pencil PDF’s of notes or homework may be provided and printed at home but will not be required.
Assessments will be provided throughout the course so students have feedback on their progress and level of mastery. Some will be informal assessments like in class games, exit tickets, or the homework. Those assignments will come with keys or will be self grading for instant feedback. I will also provide more formal “tests” for students to take at home at the end of a unit or in the middle of a larger unit. I will provide the answer keys to parents.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We may use Blooket as a practice game or Nearpod for class lessons. Students will NOT need to log in or provide personal information. They will NOT need an account. I provide a private link in class for them to access the live game so only students in the class will have access. They can use their computer and do not need a separate device.
