Math Masters Long-Term or Drop-In; 6th Grade

This class is taught in English.

In this ongoing class, we will work together to learn and understand the rules of 6th-grade math. We will use video clips, slides, discussion, and games to understand how numbers work. Students will play games and interact with each other and the teacher to practice and master grade-level standards. 

The topics covered will include numbers and operations, algebraic thinking, operations in base ten, place value, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry.

I am an experienced public school teacher. I have taught reading, writing, and math at all levels from pre-kindergarten through college. I have extensive experience working with struggling learners, and I am well trained in working with learners to identify and overcome their individual challenges in reading, writing, and math.

30 minutes - 1 hour of optional practice per week will be made available to students

Learners will be assessed on an ongoing basis in class. 

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Learners will be provided with class documents to print before class. Please ensure that your learner has their documents for each class meeting. Much of the class work will be based on these documents. 

No additional apps or programs will be required. Class materials will be shared via screen share during class.
