In this fun, engaging, game-based class, students will master multiplication facts between 0-12 through the learning games of Blooket and Gimkit. Learning games on Blooket and Gimkit require the learner to correctly answer questions to advance and earn points in the game. ***Students DO NOT need to have a Booket or Gimkit account for this class.*** During class, students will be sent a link and join code in the chat box feature of Zoom. Students using one device can click on the link to join the game, or students can use two devices during class - one for Zoom, one for the game. The Game ID will be shared during class, and only students enrolled will be permitted to play. ***To join a Gimkit game during class, students will use the URL: www.gimkit.com/join. ***To join a Blooket game during class, students will use the URL: play.blooket.com/play. Because this class is ongoing, students can enroll at any time. Classes do not build upon each other. Every week, we will be practicing all multiplication facts between 0 and 12. Examples of Games: Trust No One - Inspired by the popular “Among Us” video game, crewmates must work together to find the imposter, but learners must answer questions to earn points to earn investigations and meetings. Monster Brawl - Move around the map collecting XP and answering questions to level up abilities and survive. Cafe - Serve food to customers, restock your supplies by answering questions, and buy upgrades to create a cool cafe. Tower of Doom - Answer questions to collect cards that help you defeat evil Blooks and climb the Tower of Doom to victory Fishing Frenzy - Answer questions to reel in fish and other Blooks, which range in rarity and points. Humans vs. Zombies - Students are randomly split into two teams, and students must answer questions individually to help maintain their health and defeat the other team. This class is best for any student ages 7 to 12 who wishes to learn, practice and master multiplication facts between 0 and 12. The class materials will be presented via Blooket.com and Gimkit.com and will be screenshared through Zoom. Students will need to access the internet on their device or a separate device to join the game.
