Students will learn how to simplify radical expressions such as Sqrt(45) by breaking the radicand down into the product of its largest perfect square factor and its partner. This class will be student driven and teacher moderated. I will show the students an example, they will help me solve it, check for student comprehension and then the students will complete a similar example. If time allows we will also learn how to simplify radicals that contain variables. The class will be 35 minutes...
Students will learn how to simplify radical expressions without a calculator.
Class notes will be provided or students can use a notebook if they prefer. Students should have a writing utensil and a highlighter is recommended but not required.
