Hi Students! Struggling with fractions? We've got this! During today's lesson, we will learn and apply the rules of adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. We will review how to find a common denominator and also how to reduce fractions. This class will be rigorous but also relaxed. Students will learn the rules of fractions and understand how to add and subtract fractions. Students will understand and practice how to find common denominators and also how to reduce fractions.
I have a degree in Elementary Education and am certified to teach middle school math. I have been teaching 6th grade math for 9 years now and feel very confident in my knowledge and teaching ability for standards 6th grade and below.
No homework will be assigned for this class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be informal, based on teacher observation, and also student's answers when working problems independently.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Math problems used during the Outschool lesson will be created by me or materials that allow copyright. There are several educational materials that I will use as a guide such as Think Central - Go Math and Daily Warm Ups, but I will alter the numbers to make them my own. I will be following standards from College and Career Ready Standards.
