Description
Class Experience
The goal of this course is to learn (memorize) the multiplication tables from 1 to 12. They will also gain "number sense" which is a fuller understanding of how to "interact" with numbers. This will lead to greater confidence in math class.
Hi! I am an experienced, qualified math teacher. I am dedicated to helping middle school kids excel in math.
It is important to complete the homework for success in this course. Students will each have their own worksheets (download then print) and homework assignments for each lesson. About 10 to 20 minutes (some need more time, some need less time) of homework a day will be assigned. At first it will seem like a lot. Then, students get into the rhythm of the work, and are proud of what they are achieving.
If you have a three ring binder, it would be a good idea to use it to organize and keep track of all of the notes and homework sheets and class notes. Downloadable and printable worksheets and homework sheets will be provided. Please bring class notes (supplied), pencil and eraser to each class. If you can't print the notes, plain paper or a notebook are also great.
On the last day, students will complete a multiple choice assessment. There will be reviews at the start of each class where the the students will test their learning.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents can encourage their kids to do the assigned practice. It is important to complete the homework for success in this course. It is key to successfully learning these multiplication facts.
