Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Want to improve math skills in a fun, hands-on way? In this class, we will focus on strengthening our confidence, fundamental skills and reasoning abilities in the world of mathematics. This class will not use either textbooks or worksheets. Instead, we will explore open-ended questions, play games, complete challenges, engage in art projects, and take part in other such interactive activities. This approach will allow learners to strengthen their underlying abilities that they will then be able to transfer to a variety of situations, rather than memorizing facts. It will also help struggling or reluctant learners to view mathematics in a whole new way.

The class will begin with a few weeks covering place value and operations. It will then be shaped by the concepts learners need practice in. The list of topics and supplies will be updated as the class goes on. If your learner falls outside of the age range but could benefit from the concepts and approach, please send me a message and an accommodation will likely be made.
