Math in Sports
Math is everywhere in Sports! Prior to the class, students will be asked their favorite sport so that Mr. G can include really interesting Math problems and games involving Statistics, Algebra, & Geometry the students can solve together.

US Grade 4 - 6
Students will discuss Math applications for their favorite sports. There will be a Geometrical application, a Statistical application, and an Algebraical application. The class will begin with a warm-up problem about Math and Sports. (5 minutes) Students will share their favorite sport. Then a short Sports Video. (5 minutes) Geometrical Sports application problem and discuss and work together to solve it. And play a Sports Game to test students' knowledge. (15 minutes) Statistical Sports application problem and discuss and work together to solve it. And play a Sports Game to test students' knowledge. (15 minutes) Algebraical Sports application problem and discuss and work together to solve it. And play a Sports Game to test students' knowledge. (15 minutes)
Learning Goals
Students will connect Geometry (Perimeter, Area, and Angles) to their favorite sport and understand the application of Math.Students will connect Algebra (Equations and Graphs) to their favorite sport and understand the application of Math.
