In this Among Us themed unit, we will focus on basic subtraction skills with single digit subtraction over the course of six classes. Find the impostor among the crew members and see who will be sent out into space!

Beginner Level
As a teacher, I've found that by diving into special interests, you can get a level of "buy in" not usually seen in some students. That's why I created this Among Us themed addition series, to target those kiddos who love everything Among Us. This is a two week course, scheduled over six sessions. We will focus on single digit subtraction with minudens within 20. Students in this Among Us themed class will engage in games and exercises that teach the subtraction skill and/or reinforce preexisting subtraction skills. Single step word problem work is also included. Level 2 Class Schedule (Subtraction with Minudens to 20) Class 1: Subtraction with 0, 1, and 2 Class 2: Subtraction with 3, 4 and 5 Class 3: Subtraction with 6, 7, and 8 Class 4: Subtraction with 9 and 10 Class 5: Subtraction Word Problems 0 to 10 Class 6: Review of all Previous Classes Homework and assessments can be provided at the request of the parent/caregiver, but are not required portions of the course.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to subtract two numbers with minudens up to 20 with fluency, using various strategies / techniques.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.OA.A.5 - Fluently add and subtract within 5.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.C.6 - Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.OA.B.2 - Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.

Learning Needs
I am a certified special education teacher, and teach math on a daily basis to a crew of diverse and neurospicy learners. Students under the ASD umbrella, as well as student with attention / ADHD needs are encouraged.
Parental Guidance
The Among Us games does have some level of mature themes. During this course, the images sourced from the game will be non-violent in nature. The game itself is labelled as for ages 10+, but the content of the lessons will be appropriate for all ages.
Pre-Requisites
Students should have the ability to count to 20 with fluency, and have numeral-quantity association (such as, they know the number four is represented by "4" and that it connects with the quantity of four).
