Homework
1 hour per week. Worksheets for practice will be sent by the teacher at the end of every class . If the learner is absent then there is no worksheet given.
Assessment
An assessment worksheet is done in last 2 weeks along with tips on how to find answers easily and prepare for tests . These are not mandatory and depends on the learner's speed over the course. A learner may choose to do them as a home assignment too.

Class Experience

US Grade 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This is a fun Math class for a learner in 4th grade . The teacher makes the session fun by lot of interactions and games in the class. After a topic is discussed in class learners knowledge is reinforced by practicing on worksheets and playing digital games on those topics. 

The class format is as follows: 

5 minutes warm up : Recap of previous class , or level check for a new learner 

10 minutes topic introduction : Teacher will introduce the concept for the day on a digital whiteboard and check for learner's understanding 

5 minutes worksheet : We practice our knowledge on the worksheet 

5 minutes game : We play a fun game to reinforce our learnings 


Semester: Spring 2024

Weeks 1-2: Review and Introduction to Fractions

Week 1:

Day 1: Review of place value and addition/subtraction concepts.
Day 2: Introduction to fractions - Understanding fractions as parts of a whole.

Week 2:

Day 1: Identifying and representing fractions on a number line.
Day 2: Comparing and ordering fractions.
Weeks 3-4: Fraction Operations

Week 3:

Day 1: Adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators.
Day 2: Adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.

Week 4:

Day 1: Multiplying fractions by whole numbers.
Day 2: Introduction to mixed numbers and improper fractions.
Weeks 5-6: Geometry: Lines, Angles, and Symmetry

Week 5:

Day 1: Introduction to lines and angles - Identifying types of angles.
Day 2: Understanding parallel and perpendicular lines.

Week 6:

Day 1: Exploring symmetry in geometric shapes.
Day 2: Drawing lines of symmetry in 2D shapes.

Weeks 7-8: Measurement: Perimeter and Area

Week 7:

Day 1: Finding the perimeter of polygons.
Day 2: Finding the perimeter of irregular shapes.

Week 8:

Day 1: Introduction to area - Finding the area of rectangles.
Day 2: Finding the area of composite figures.
Weeks 9-10: Data Analysis and Interpretation

Week 9:

Day 1: Reading and interpreting bar graphs.
Day 2: Creating and interpreting line plots.

Week 10:

Day 1: Analyzing data sets and drawing conclusions.
Day 2: Solving word problems involving data interpretation.

Weeks 11-12: Review and Test Preparation

Week 11:

Day 1: Review of key concepts covered in the semester so far.
Day 2: Formative assessment - Practice test.

Week 12:

Day 1: Review of assessment results and addressing any areas of weakness.
Day 2: Test-taking strategies and preparation for the final assessment.
