Welcome to Pokemon themed math Bingo for Kindergartners! This class is designed to be a fun way to practice addition and subtraction within 10. Class begins with brief introductions and time to discuss about our favorite Pokemon. Learners are encouraged to bring a favorite Pokemon related toy to class with them. I am a fun and flexible teacher who wants your child to have fun AND learn. To get the most out of class, learners should have their BINGO board printed and ready to use as class begins. Please make sure learners also have and a marker or bingo chips to mark off math problems when they are called. Depending on time, we might be able to play two rounds of BINGO using the same board. If this is the case, please have two sheets printed or have your learner mark off problems using small toys like Lego bricks. During class, I spin a magic wheel and it lands on a math problem. Learners find the same math problem on their board and cross it off. Next, I encourage my friends to work on the math problem and then raise their hand to answer it once everyone has had a moment to do figure it out individually. We continue on in this way until someone gets 5 in a row and shouts BINGO! This class is designed to be a fun way to practice math facts with a group of students who like Pokemon. Students should be able to complete addition and subtraction problems within 10 (end of K).
Learning Goals
Students will review math addition and subtraction problems within 10! Problems such as 5+3 and 8-2 will be called and answered as a class.
