As a former fifth grade Math/Science teacher and FIRST LEGO League Robotics coach, I have spent countless hours helping elementary school aged children discover the wonder of learning through play. My work as a Gifted and Talented Specialist also taught me the importance of inspiring children to look beyond the obvious to the abstract and helped me to see the joy that comes from viewing every child through the lens of his or her strengths. I have a degree in Biology and have also spent several years working with gifted and talented students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. This gives me a unique perspective as I work alongside my learners, gently guiding their thinking and helping them to discover exciting new truths about the world around them.
No supplies needed other than your love of math, a good attitude ;), and a readiness to have some fun!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
