In this ongoing class we will choose between games to play. I will demonstrate a game along with a student and then we will play. Most of the games will come from Ben Orlin's Math Games With Bad Drawings. Games such as Dandelion and the Wind, corners, Triangles, and other games. The goal of these games is to "bring out the best in human thought." In other words you will need to have to use brain power to figure out where best to put the dandelion or the line depending on the game. ...
Students will learn and have fun with other students.
I have a Masters of Mathematics and love to explore the history behind math.
If necessary for the subject, a handout will be provided. At times the presentation will be on nearpod, depending on the suitability for nearpod on the subject.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
