Class Experience

In this ongoing class, we play math games and do other hands-on activities to make learning fun!  I follow the Dimensions Math curriculum (a Singapore Math program), however students DO NOT need to be using the curriculum in order to benefit from the class.  The activities provided in this class will supplement any math curriculum you are using.  

Singapore Math is a mastery-based approach to math, where students progress from concrete examples (real life), to pictures, and finally apply...

Students will learn to think mathematically as they discuss and experiment with numbers, adding, and subtracting and place value.  Students will also learn to tell time, count money, and work with simple fractions and beginning multiplication and division concepts.

I am a certified elementary teacher who has been teaching hands-on math to young children for over 20 years.

I will assign workbook pages from the Dimensions 1B workbook.  These assignments are for your convenience, and will not be discussed in class.

Students are assessed constantly during their work in class.  Throughout the activities, we discuss our thinking and our strategies for approaching problems.

1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
