In this one-time class, students will learn what is a fraction, how does it compare on a number line, and how to compare the size of fractions. This class is for students with very little to no prior knowledge of fractions.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn what is a fraction, where fractions fit on the number line, and how to compare the size of fractions to other fractions. The students will learn through games, slides, and video clips, and real-life experiences/tools. My goal is to make fractions fun and easy for students to understand and can generalize into the real world. There is no required knowledge for students to participate in this class as it will cover the basic steps of fractions. 

*CLASS TIME*
All class times...

Students will be able to improve their knowledge of fractions and how they relate to the number line.

There is no homework.

A handout will be posted in the classroom before the class starts.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

There will be no assessment

35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
