Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 4
Beginner - Advanced Level
I work with learners one-on-one to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to tailor the instruction to the individual needs of each student. Whether students need help with basic math concepts, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, or any other math topic, I'm are here to help.

My goal is to help develop a deep understanding of math and how it applies to the world around us. I believe that everyone can learn math with the right instruction, practice, and support, and I am committed to helping learners achieve their goals.

Receiving personalized one on one help with math can be such a powerful tool for a student’s learning. Learners who were previously struggling with math can begin to thrive and become quite successful in math as a result of having a tutor support their learning journey. Having that personalized and focused instruction can really make all the difference.

This class will be tailored to learners, we can work on extra practice, or review concepts that are unclear. I can even offer full curriculum 1:1 instruction!

Whether your learner is struggling with a particular math concept or just looking to improve their overall math skills, I'd love to help. Let's work together to unlock their full potential in math!

Please see the "Teacher Expertise" section below for some information on me as a teacher.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
My training has come in various forms, including learning math in academic endeavors (Including a BSc in Mathematics) and in my day to day life (Working as a data analyst and a nurse).

When it comes to teaching, I've been coaching, tutoring, and teaching in some form since I was 16. At 16, I started tutoring friends, and soon after that, I helped with elementary aged children, and older kids (Which was always somewhat easy to me as my mother was a math professor and always had math books lying around, and I saw what was in them as puzzles). I've continued this side business for over 20 years now (working solo and for tutoring businesses and schools) and have taught people ranging in age from 5 to well over 60. It has also found me teaching other subjects (Which I always try to relate to numbers as being able to do math helps learn problem solving) and have taught groups up 24 in size both online and in person.

Tutoring and teaching aren't the only way I've worked with people though. I'm a running coach and a Tae Kwon Do instructor who has been training others for 15 years and my 2 favorite groups to work with are kids and older people, as they're both so grateful. As a coach, I always try to have people learn while having fun also, making it a better experience for them.
