EST Time Zone This class will not meet face-to-face. Each week will consist of a variety of activities to improve their math skills and knowledge. Interactive task will be submitted to the teacher and feedback will be provided via Outschool messages. A wonderful benefit of this flex class is that learners can take as much time as they want to review the activities. Units Covered (Priority Standards ONLY): Number System Fluency, Proportional Reasoning, Expressions, Equations, Area, Volume and Statistics ! This crash course is focused on priority standards only. It is purposed to provide a foundation for Math 6 success! The standards are not taught in any order specific to any state but structured in a manner appropriate for this course. The order in which units are covered is subject to change at the instructors discretion but this will not affect the curriculum covered. Teaching Style: Student-Centered! LOTS of interactive activities, games and discussions !!! Research proves that a student-centered instructional model is key to learning! Interaction Level: Medium to High! Students will have an opportunity to engage with me and each other through audio and discussions via their learner chat! It is my first priority to ensure the safety of all students so open classroom chat will be limited. All interactive activities are selected to maximize learning while providing a safe environment to do so! Prior Knowledge: 5th Grade Standards !!! I prefer students to have foundational 5th grade skills before enrolling in my course.

Students will be exposed to 6th grade key concepts purposed to prepare them for 6th grade MATH or as a review for 7th grade MATH!

External resources will be used to enhance learning. Some external resources used will require student accounts which will be activated and assigned by the teacher at no additional cost to you. The teacher will assign generic (no personal identifiers) username/passwords for each student. The student will only have access to their generic accounts while enrolled in my course. All external resources have been vetted and approved to be appropriate for learning. The external resource for this class is Google Slides!
