This one time summer themed class will challenge students to solve a variety of math problems, using an escape room format. Students will work together to find the magic seashells and break the sea monster's spell . They must find all of the shells and decode the riddle in 30 minutes. Math problems are at fourth and fifth grade level and involve a variety of concepts, including all four math operations, data, time, area, perimeter, and fractions. Students will be encouraged to interact with peers to solve the problems; teacher will ask guiding questions and offer possible strategies if the group is stuck.
