In this Escape Room style class, you have been separated from your friends in the corn maze. You must solve riddles, puzzles and math problems in order to earn map pieces, and escape the maze and find your friends before it gets dark!
Class experience
A sudden rain storm has separated you from your friends as you ran to seek cover in the maze. Once the storm has passed you make your way back to the path only to realize you are lost, alone and running out of time before it is too dark to see. You stumble upon a sign reading "Need a map?" and follow it to your where you find a puzzle waiting and hopefully a map to get out of there too. As learners embark on this adventure, they will work to decipher coded messages and solve math problems...
Throughout the adventure the following skills will be practiced: - decoding messages - double digit addition - double digit subtraction - 1x1 digit multiplication within x10 - ordering numbers least to greatest
Students may find it helpful to have a pencil and paper on hand for solving math problems and coded messages.
