Math Enrichment or Support Class - 3rd Grade Concepts

Live Group Class
In this ongoing class, 3rd grade math concepts will be presented in various ways and be applied through engaging activities, games, and projects. This class is for kids who need enrichment or support in the area of 3rd grade math.

Projects
Depending on the concept, expect some projects that we will begin in class; if not completed in class, the students will be asked to finish on their own.
Progress Report
Parents may request a progress report at any time.

Class Experience

US Grade 3
Each class will open with a math warmup involving a concept that students should be familiar with and that relates to the subject of that week's class.

Week of June 1st: Understanding the Relationship between Multiplication and Division
Week of June 8th: Fluently Multiplying and Dividing within 100
Week of June 15th: Solve Two Step Word Problems and Using Equations
Week of June 22nd: Solve Two Step Word Problems and Using Equations
Week of June 29th: Patterns in Numbers
Week of July 6th: Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers within 1000
Week of July 13th: Estimation
Week of July 20th: Multiplying with Multiples of 10
Week of July 27th: Understanding Fractions
Week of August 3rd: Fractions on a Number Line
Week of August 10th: Equivalent Fractions
Week of August 17th: Comparing Fractions
Week of August 25th: Fraction Story Problems
Week of September 7th: Telling Time to the Nearest Minute
Week of September 14th: Elapsed Time Story Problems
Week of September 21st: Represent and Interpret Data
Week of September 28th: Data and Graphing
Week of October 5th: Understanding Area
Week of October 12th: Understanding the Relationship between Area and Multiplication
Week of October 19th: Understanding Perimeter
Week of October 26th: Area and Perimeter Story Problems
Week of November 2nd: Area of Irregular Shapes
Week of November 9th: 2-D Shapes and Their Attributes

Feel free to pause your subscription if there is a week where your student doesn't need that particular math topic. 

Be prepared for games and fun activities as well as engaging story problems in this weekly class!

Learning Goals

Students will participate in class, sharing answers and communicating when they don't understand something.
Students will show and explain their mathematical understanding of the concept.
