In this class the students will learn to count from 1 - 20, recognize the numbers and associate it what it looks like and finally write it out. The topics covered will be the numbers in the order they go in counting them, match it up to what it looks like and how to write it out. Understanding of the numbers and number literacy will be taught in a fun and interactive way. We will count together, I will demonstrate the numbers and use the dinosaur theme to establish a fun understanding of what each number represents then I will help guide them in writing out the numbers through demonstrating it and encouraging them to write it out. My teaching style is very interactive and I encourage each learner to express themselves and feel comfortable in the class. I will engage the students in fun activities and as questions to stimulate their interest and learning.
Learning Goals
Students will learn number literacy from 1 - 20. Recognizing the numbers and what they represent. Fine motor skills will be applied in various activities in the class where they will be applying cutting and writing skills to work through the class material to establish their number sense from 1 - 20. Expression and communication skills will be developed as they will participate in discussions and answer questions about their work.
