Does your Learner struggle with basic math concepts, such as fractions, decimals, telling time and shapes? If so, this summer camp is for you! We will meet three times per week, for one week. We will make a fraction rainbow, our very own clock, and a shape robot! This will be an interactive class, and we will create our projects together. Day 1: We will make a fraction rainbow. We will discuss denominators, numerators, different fractions, their corresponding decimals, and how many of each fraction make a whole. Day 2: We will make our own analog learning clock, complete with moving hands and hour and minute notations. We will also practice reading a digital clock and making that time on our analog learning clock. Day 3: We will create our own shape pictures. We will cut out different shapes as a group, and then use them to create a picture. Learners will take turns presenting their pictures to the group. Depending on the Learner's abilities, I may ask that parents assist learners by cutting out shapes in advance. This will allow us to have more time to discuss shapes and complete our pictures. If I deem this to be necessary, I will send out further instructions in advance. Please note, I do offer each of these classes as one time classes. If you have already taken one of my math craft classes, you may want to book the others independently.

Learners will need 5 or 6 throughout the week - Markers - Glue Stick - Templates printed/cut out (if needed, please keep an eye on your messages) - White computer paper (optional) - Hole punch (optional)

Hello! My name is Whitney and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my expertise with you! I have a Bachelors degree from Florida State University, and I have over 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught formally in a preschool classroom, and I currently teach ESL online. I have also taught horseback riding, rowing, canning, Sunday school, and I look forward to sharing my classroom with you!
I believe that learning should be FUN! Some times a bit messy, maybe a bit silly, but always full of smiles and laughter. I believe that we remember what we learn best when we remember the experience as a positive one. I also believe that life can be one of the greatest educators. I love to bring real life examples into my classes.
When I am not spending with my family and dogs, I enjoy teaching sewing classes, budgeting classes, science, English, art, and having a fun and educational story time for young learners. Often times, I will bring my dogs to class as teaching tools!
