🧮 What do they learn? 🧮

Much of what students learn in this course are not things that are typically taught in school. Here are some highlights regarding what they learn:

✅ Tactics for understanding and simplifying Math concepts.
✅ The ideal study habits that facilitate success in Math, and detailed plans for how to carry out them out consistently.
✅ How tests are constructed from the POV of a teacher, and how problems can be made increasingly challenging within one concept.
✅ Study strategies for optimizing their results on tests.
✅ How to assert yourself confidently when you feel confused or put on the spot.

For a more detailed breakdown by lesson and week, see course syllabus.

🤔 Is this a Math class or a group coaching class, and will the students be learning/doing any Math?

Not quite… It is NOT a Math course in the traditional sense, and students will NOT be learning any new Math concepts. However, we will be using certain fundamental Math concepts that they should already be familiar with - like calculating averages, and percent word problems - in order to give context to the ideas and strategies that we go over.

In other words, this course helps students gain clarity on “why” and “how” to learn Math effectively, and less emphasis on “what” they learn.

 🧮 CLASS STRUCTURE: 🧮

Once enrolled, students watch two 15-30 minute video lessons per week for 4 weeks, and complete the accompanying quizzes and exercises.

Lesson 2: The Basics

Students learn about the various mindsets and attitudes that one can adopt when it comes to academics, with a deeper dive into the mindset that best supports learning - the Growth mindset. Lesson 4: The Game Plan
