My name is Ms. Kitty Kat Meow McFluffy and I run Math Cats. A math club for 1st grade (year 2 UK) mathematicians who love cats.
In this ongoing, fun class students will learn fundamental math skills using cat-related resources, puzzles, and games.
The classes will start with the Kitty Kat Detective greeting and a warm-up to make sure our Kitty Kat senses are sharp and ready to solve the day's math problems. I will then introduce the maths theme for the lesson.

5th Counting with Kitty Coins (international money skills)

There will be individual and group tasks set and students will share their answers with the group.
I welcome complete maths beginners alongside students who are confident in basic addition, subtraction, and times tables.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their confidence in basic number skills including counting to 100, number bonds to 10, addition and subtraction with objects to 20, the 2, 5, and 10 times tables, and understanding maths vocabulary including double and half.

Supply List
Something to write with, something to write on and 30 small objects (blocks/counters/pasta) for counting.
Whiskers are encouraged but are optional!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I trained at a top drama school in London and create devised theatre and inclusive dance performances. I have been a teacher in schools and further education for the last 16 years. I specialize in teaching drama, English, maths, enterprise, and working with students with learning disabilities. In December 2020 I left my full-time job teaching maths, drama, and citizenship in a secondary school for autistic learners to work full time at The Kitty Kat Detective Agency International.

I am passionate about inclusion and mastery. I am skilled at teaching complex concepts using simple visual methods.  I use my acting training to retell magical stories with fun, maths puzzles, and games woven in with top tips for individual students on how to develop their maths and communication skills.

I set up The Kitty Kat Detective Agency International as lockdown began inspired by my son's love of mysteries, maths, and cats and I love it so much I never take my whiskers off.
