In this 5 week course, students will learn all of the foundational skills to prepare for a pre-algebra course, receive engaging assistance throughout a pre-algebra course or refresh on pre-algebra concepts. This class is great for any student who is looking for an exciting journey through pre-algebra. My goal with all of my math classes is to transform the "math is boring" stigma with energetic introduction of concepts and applicable, creative problems. I will challenge each student to develop problem solving and communication skills throughout this course. Students will engage with classmates through entry tasks, practice problems, math games and discussions. Here is the course schedule: Week 1: Rounding numbers and Order of Operations Week 2: Prime Factorization, Least Common Factors, Greatest Common Factors Week 3: Graphing and Interpreting Data Week 4: Perimeter, Area and Volume Week 5: Fractions: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing

I hold my Master's in Secondary Education.
